3 New Guitar Hero Games Scheduled for 2008
By John Markham on Feb 8, 2008 in News
Activision held their quarterly conference call yesterday and gave a heads up regarding their upcoming releases for 2008.According to Mike Griffith, President and CEO of Activision Publishing, two unconfirmed Guitar Hero titles will ship sometime between April and June while Guitar Hero 4 will ship in the fall.
While the exact details of the two new Guitar Hero titles have not been released, Griffith gave a few cryptic hints indicating “headlining” bands and new hardware innovations.
Griffith’s comments would seem to confirm some of the bigger rumors that have been floating around. The “headlining” bands may indicate a title with just one band.
Aerosmith has been touted as a possible candidate, and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has recently said that Aerosmith “is working closely with Activision on a Guitar Hero game”. Perhaps Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is just around the corner.
Griffith’s comment regarding new hardware is a little harder to decipher. The obvious idea would be drums and microphone as those have been implemented with the game Rock Band. Another idea might be a new platform.
Recent rumors would seem to indicate this as Activision recently trademarked the term “Guitar Hero: On Tour”and they have already announced plans to develop a Guitar Hero title for the DS.
More to come as details come out.

WTF is this!
Aerosmith hasnt made a decent album since the early 90’s and even then they werent orriginal, they were and 80’s hair band that sang slow weak songs loudly to make it sound exciting
worst game ever imo
Aerosmith sucks | Feb 15, 2008 | Reply
Well of course, a band doesn’t last over 30 years and have numerous hits unless they suck.
er…
Admittedly they are not my favorite band, but they were/are popular and this game will have some fans.
I do hope that it’s better than Revolution X though.
