Do you want to disappoint your children? Then just go right ahead by picking up one of these blatant Guitar Hero ripoffs.

Guitar Hero Clone Guitar Fever

First we’ll start with “Guitar Fever”. This has to be one of the most blatant ripoffs of Guitar Hero, right down to the color and style of the Guitar. Now why would someone pick this up instead? I suppose you wouldn’t have to worry about it being sold out due to demand. There is also the bonus of it being plug-n-play - no console needed. A bonus I guess if you don’t actually have a gaming console. This particular unit comes with 15 “licensed” songs and retails for $59.99, but is currently on sale for $46.89.

Shredmaster

Next on our list is Shredmaster!!! Emphasis ours, but we don’t know why - perhaps because they took the time to design a new body, albeit poorly (the whammy bar is way too close to the strum bar). As a whole, the unit looks very small in fact, and the “sharp” edge of the guitar’s body looks way too close to where you would want to place your hands to press the fret buttons. This unit comes with 10 songs and currently retails for $49.99, but is on sale for $40.32 More info and lists of songs after the break

Both of these toys come with built in classic songs(15 for Guitar Fever and 10 for Shredmaster) - list at the end of the story. Don’t ask us for the sound quality, we haven’t actually seen the units first hand, but were not too hopeful. Both plug directly into your t.v., eliminating the need for a gaming console, so they are cost effective options. According to the features both also allow you to “Play tunes from any audio device through guitar” and “Create and play original tunes on your TV”, although we don’t exactly know what that means yet. If for some reason you have or have seen either of these, please send in a review. The song listings are below, don’t worry about the original artists as we suspect that they also don’t include anything like the original recordings either.
