Update: For you Rock Band fans, don’t feel too disheartened, Def Leppard may be in Rock Band as well - Read Story
Most of you may recall that Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen announced on a radio show, 2 weeks ago, that Def Leppard would have 3 songs in Guitar Hero 4.
But as we expected, it appears that the Def Leppard tracks that Collen mentioned will not be part of Guitar Hero 4, but rather as part of a DLC for Guitar Hero 3.
On April 24th, a 3 pack DLC featuring Def Leppard’s newest single “Nine Lives” as well as “Rock of Ages” and “Photograph” will be available for download for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Nine Lives will be the first single from Def Leppard’s “Songs From The Sparkle Lounge”, which will be Def Leppard’s first new studio album in over six years.
This will also mark the first launch of a new single through a video game before the album is released.
More info after the break.
“Being involved with Guitar Hero is very exciting for us & adds a whole new layer of appreciation,” says Joe Elliott, lead singer, Def Leppard. “I know from personal experience how much more you get into the music by playing the game – which is why we were keen to explore this opportunity. Guitar Hero is extremely popular with all kinds of music heads, which includes a lot of our fans – and we think releasing Nine Lives this way first is just fantastic! ”
The Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Def Leppard song pack – featuring “Nine Lives”, “Rock Of Ages” and “Photograph” will be available online for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (North America only) on the 24th April 2008 and for European PlayStation 3 owners from 8th May 2008.
Def Leppard release the new studio album “Songs From the Sparkle Lounge”. The album will be available in the UK digitally on the 28th April 2008 and a physical release on 5th May 2008.
Outside the UK the album will be released worldwide on the 29th April 2008.
