Brown University Professor is doing a Guitar Hero Research Project
By Tyler Ryan on Apr 11, 2008 in News
Kiri Miller, an ethnomusicologist and music professor at Brown University, is doing research on Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Her studies tend to focus on approaches to new technological practices with respect to music and culture, and her Guitar Hero research blog is an interesting read.
As part of Miller’s research, she is conducting a survey of Guitar Hero and Rock Band players. The survey questions focus on how the games may relate to performance on a real instrument, and the various settings in which they’re played.
