Aerosmith is Guitar Hero Exclusive
By Tyler Ryan on Apr 30, 2008 in News
Newsweek is reporting that they received confirmation from an Aerosmith publicist and Activision PR that that Aerosmith has signed an exclusivity agreement with the makers of Guitar Hero.
While Aerosmith’s “Train Kept a Rollin” is currently available for Rock Band, future Aerosmith tracks will appear only on the Guitar Hero series “for an unspecified time”.
This doesn’t really come as a surprise. I really don’t think Activision, after developing a game dedicated to one band(including motion captures, image processing, etc…), would have spent all that money and then allowed for Aerosmith tracks to appear in an upcoming Rock Band download.
I hate to see exclusivity agreements, but from a financial perspective it makes perfect sense.
