Guitar Hero hits 15 Million DLC Downloads

Amidst the excitement of Activision’s conference call mentioning the upcoming ”hardware innovation”, the announced increase upcoming for DLC releases, and increase in the number of titles, we forgot to mention another interesting bit of news.

Guitar Hero individual song downloads surpassed the 15 million mark.  What makes this interesting to us is that Rock Band, who have consistently been releasing weekly DLC has only just surpassed the 10 million individual song download mark according to a Viacom announcement last week.

There are a lot of Rock Band players who download most, if not all, of the DLC packs as they come out.  If Activision keeps to a regular release schedule for Guitar Hero DLC’s, I suspect that they will not only continue to stay ahead of Rock Band in songs downloaded, but continue to expand that gap.
