Guitar Hero III Mobile has recently picked up two awards at the 7th annual BREW 2008 Developer Awards.

Guitar Hero III Mobile picked up the awards for Best Game Application and People’s Choice Award.

On top of such recognition, Guitar Hero III Mobile has been equally impressive with respect to sales.

Across all carriers, Guitar Hero III Mobile has been downloaded more than 1 million times making it one of the fastest selling mobile games in history according to a recent press release.

250,000 songs are played daily, with the top 3 songs based on play being “Slow Ride”, “Mississippi Queen”, and “Black Magic Woman”.

“Fans of the Guitar Hero console games have been very impressed with the title’s translation onto BREW handsets,” said David White, chief executive officer of Hands-On Mobile. “Guitar Hero III Mobile has opened the eyes of a whole new group of consumers to the world of mobile games.”

Guitar Hero III Mobile players can expect to see expansion packs in the near future.  June 1st will see the first DLC with the songs “Stricken”, “Talk Dirty To Me”, and “Rock and Roll All Nite” being the first available for download.

With the new song pack downloads, Hands-On hopes to offer over 50 songs by the end of the year.
