Uh… New Guitar Hero On Tour Demo Trailer
By Tyler Ryan on May 31, 2008 in News
The newest trailer for Guitar Hero On Tour has been released and we’re speechless.
I was pretty sure based on the tracklisting that I’ve seen for Guitar Hero On Tour that the game was being marketing to a younger target market than is generally advertised to for the console versions of Guitar Hero. This Guitar Hero On Tour trailer pretty much confirms it.
The Guitar Hero On Tour trailer serves to get people excited by showing how to play the new Guitar Hero for the DS.
The premise is as follows; It shows a young guy playing the game while another guy who is much older plays the ‘rocker’(?) role and sings out how to play the game. I’m sure the premise might have seemed solid during the sales meetings, but in practice this commercial is over the top in it’s absurdity.
Had they stuck to a simple narrator doing voice overs to tell consumers how the game is played, while showing a video of the young guy playing and enjoying the game it could have worked. Instead the creepy rocker guy, who would be perfect for a mall clown, comes off as extremely lame and the young guy looks frightened for his life - and rightfully so.
Now it’s possible that this video was intentionally made so lame in the hopes that it would breate some buzz and get a lot of views (which might even be happening), but what would the point be if it makes the game look so bad.
Check out the video on GameTrailers.com and let us know if you think this trailer is as bad as we find it to be?
