Guitar Hero: Metallica - It’s Official

Activision let it slip in a recent filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that there will be another Guitar Hero game dedicated to a band coming in the near future.

Edward Woo, a Wedbush Morgan securities analyst caught wording in the document that shows Activision plans to release Guitar Hero: Metallica.

According to the filing “In fiscal 2009, we [Activision] plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms.”

No other information is available at this time, however if Activision’s fiscal year ends on March 31 then you can expect Guitar Hero: Metallica to be released before March 31, 2009.

I’m still bitter over Lars’ campaign against Napster and was never a big Metallica fan to begin with, so I’m waiting to see what additional bands and songs will be in the game before I decide that I’ll want this.

What do you think?  Would you be willing to purchase Guitar Hero: Metallica?
