Check Rock Band DLC Rankings
By Tyler Ryan on Jun 4, 2008 in News
Have you ever wondered how one DLC’s downloads compares to another? Want to know if The Grateful Dead pack was downloaded more than the Boston pack? Well now you can.
DLCStats.com has come up with a novel idea that gives a close idea as to how many times individual songs have been downloaded.
They don’t have access to the official download numbers as this site is not an official Harmonix site, so they do some investigative research that can act as a rough idea to judge a song’s popularity.
What they do is find the lowest ranking score for each song. So if a users best score on a song is ranked 24,596th, you can bet that the song has been downloaded at least 24,596 times.
Two things to consider when looking at the statistics on the site however. The songs can still be downloaded without having a ranked score (i.e. a user hasn’t played the song yet, or they haven’t played online). Also, the rankings for each song only go to 100,000, so anything over that can only be guessed at.
Again, while these numbers will not provide completely accurate sales figures, they can certainly be used to judge relative popularity.
