John Mayer Trashes Guitar Hero et al…

Speaking with Rolling Stone, John Mayer told the magazine that;
“Guitar Hero was devised to bring the guitar-playing experience to the masses without them having to put anything into it. And having done both, there’s nothing like really playing guitar. I mean, what would you rather drive, a Ferrari or one of those amusement-park cars on a track?”
In other news, the ever intelligent John Mayer enjoys conversation with Jessica Simpson and he also knows his baseball.
Did we mention he plays ‘Adult Contemporary’. Douchebag.

To be fair, he plays blues as well. The John Mayer trio is actually pretty damn good, so he’s plenty skilled, just a sell out.
And come on, he’s not wrong really. Guitar is more rewarding and Guitar Hero is designed to bring the feeling of playing music to the masses. So I don’t think he’s out an out bashing it. In fact he seems to understand exactly what it’s about. He even says he’s played it in a round about way.
