Well it appears as though we’re not finished with big news coming from surveys today.

This news story comes to us from our friends over at Rock Band 2 News.

In yet another survey, it was announced that Rock Band 2 will feature popular Australian rockers AC/DC will have a song in Rock Band 2.

The survey also mentioned that Rock Band 2 will feature “120 of the biggest rock anthems from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s”.

And we thought Guitar Hero: World Tour’s 85 songs was big news…  Well played Harmonix, well played.

The survey also indicates that Rock Band 2 will see new improvements in “instruments, character creation, and online play”, including unspecified improvements on the drums.

Rock Band 2 will also allow the player to “develop and personalize artwork and apparel in the game, which you can then order as actual merchandise to be mailed to you.”

Let the next generation of rock game wars commence.

  3. Don Coleman, Canada’s Premiere AC/DC Vocalist, recorded the song “Women, Whiskey & Rock’n'Roll (celebrating the life and spirit of Bon Scott)” which has been airing in Australia, Canada, USA, England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Scandinavia and , soon to be, other Euro countries. It was recently requested by the British Armed Forces Rock Radio Network to air to their Troops globally (12 countries) to add to the growing list of Broadcast Stations, Universities and Internet Stations.

The song has had great reveiws from the ‘cream of the crop’ of Aussie bands and Legends and copies were requested by people such as Bob Daisley ( long time bass player with Ozzy Osbourne), Vince Lovegrove ( bandmate of Bon in The Valentines - he introduced Bon to AC/DC), Susan Masino author of “Let There Be Rock”, President of the WA Bon Scott Fan Club, Doug Thorncroft and many more.

AC/DC emailed to say thanks for the effort for the ‘homage video’ which is #1 on their site (chosen by the band) for the last 6 weeks at: http://www.acdc.com/fromtheband and is also on YouTube . The video has had over 6200 viewings so far. You can also listen to the song on the dedicated website; http://www.myspace.com/doncoleman .

Canadian Stations to air it so far : KRock Charlottetown , PEI; Big John FM, St. John , NB; C103 Moncton, CBC Moncton (Provincially), CBC Radio 3 ( Nationally); CKLN, Toronto; CKIQ, Iqaluit; thatradio, Toronto; irock, Ottawa and numerous other University and internet stations. Don has been doing on air interviews with most to launch the song and has had numerous newspaper, magazine, ezine and industry ‘blog’ write ups so far with more scheduled in the upcoming weeks as Bon Scott’s B’day nears.

  5. I would buy Rock Band 2, but since Guitar Hero WT’s instruments will probably not be compatible with RB2, I find it very difficult for my wallet.

  6. as we all know Activision tried to “suckerpunch” Harmonix with it’s “Original” Idea of World Tour… when Activision stepped into the music genre of gaming they did not know who they were dealing with..
