Rock Band DLC Week of July 8 - RHCP and Rush

Next Week's DLC will contain an unreleased track from the band Rush
Next Week's DLC will contain an unreleased track from the band Rush
Next week’s Rock Band DLC announcement comes a day early as the Harmonix offices will be closed tomorrow, and it will feature 2 tracks from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and 2 tracks from the band Rush.

You may recall that ‘Working Man’ was released a few months back as a DLC, but that was a cover version (all tracks next week are masters). Also, this version of ‘Working Man’ has never been released before! It is an alternate-take master from the same session they recorded the song with an alternate solo.

The DLC will contain;

Red Hot Chili Peppers - “Snow” (Hey Oh)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - “Tell Me Baby”

Rush - “Closer to the Heart”
Rush - “Working Man (alternate-take master)”

All tracks are $1.99 (or 160 Microsoft Points) and will be available on Tuesday July 8 for the Xbox 360, and on Thursday July 10 for the PS3.

You know what I would love to see as a DLC? Individual track pack. 1 track for each instrument. I nominate “Neil Peart’s Drum Solo” for the drums. I know people would love to be able to play that. But the only thing is that you would probably need to buy another drum kit to play it if you’ve ever seen the video of that solo.
Here are my picks for the other instruments…
    Guitar: “Eruption” Eddie Van Halen
Vocals: “Great Gig In The Sky” Pink Floyd
Bass: Custom created one by Harmonix

  2. I second you on the Neil Peart.

His abilities on the drums are phenomenal.

The only downside would be a complete and utter inability of 99.99% of Rock Band players to complete it.

His limb independence is incredible and there’s no way I could emulate a lot of the things he is able to do.

I know what you mean. If they ever did this sort of thing, they would have to take out the modes Easy and Medium, only Hard and Expert are available. Als, for the hell of it, to play the song you need 2 extra drum sets, cause that set-up is just awesome, you can’t contain that set in to 4 pads and a pedal.

Hey, I know it’s rock-based, but why don’t they put some Mark Kiing stuff in for a Bass with that idea? The lower frets are asking for slap bass.
