rockband2gameonly.jpgIf these dates are correct, or close to being correct, that means that PS3 owners will have to wait at least a month longer than Xbox 360 owners, and Wii and PS2 owners will have to wait even longer - until November!

I’m just a little upset that Rock Band 2 is coming out for the 360 a full month before the PS3. This 360 exclusivity pushing back the PS3 release date close to the same release date as Guitar Hero: World Tour makes me wonder if Rock Band 2 sales will take a hit with gamers picking up a copy of World Tour instead. It sucks just a little more for Wii and PS2 owners as well.

What’s your take on these exclusivity agreements? Harmonix says that it’s because Microsoft was easy to work with for the development. Or do you think it was because Microsoft gave MTV money for a timed exclusivity?

  2. I agree with you. I feel really bad for the Europeans who will still be waiting for the PS3 versions of Rock Band when Rock Band 2 will be released in North America.

  4. It’s a good thing that I don’t work at a video game store anymore… If I set the prices, the store would be out of business mad quick.

  5. I may own a 360, but I am full of empathy, I definitely feel for the PS3 people more, but if Microsoft really has been making it easier for Harmonix, then they earned the jump start. Maybe the extra month is to fix the glitch allowing PS3 users to share song downloads.

  6. What? I’ll have to wait until November!? Wow, Rock Band isn’t playing fair with Wii owners at all. I’ll probably never buy any Rock Band game and stick with the Guitar Hero series. Plus, I’ll be able to play with my GH3 controller, so that’s a plus.
