Guitar Hero: World Tour Press Conference

guitar_hero_world_tour_date.jpgHere are a few of the more substantial details from Activision’s press conference regarding Guitar Hero: World Tour

Any instrument previously released will be compatible with Guitar Hero: World Tour.  That includes Rock Band controllers.

In full band play, star power is shared.  Multipliers will stack, and the meter will drop quicker depending on how many ‘performers’ have activated star power.

Hayley Williams and Travis Barker have been confirmed as in game players (but we already knew that), and that there bands would have songs in the game.  So that means Paramore will have a song in the game, as well as either Blink 182, or +44 (Barkers new band).

Van Halen’s ‘Hot For Teacher’ will be a song in the game.

  2. That’s weird. Even though I really like Paramore, I kept reading that Hayley Williams is a confirmed character without knowing who she was, until now. Oh well, that’s great news, since I’m a fan of Paramore, especialy Hayley =)

Anyways, I hope the track-list will be released soon. I’m still looking after System of a Down’s song and hoping to be BYOB.

  4. I wasn’t so sure about this game til I saw the Press Conference videos… it seems interesting, but I wont be able to tell til I actually get to play it. The touch pad seems neat, at least…

And am I the only one who seems to think that there will be more than just guitar battles? Like drums and vocals too? They seem to be confirming a lot of non-guitarists as playable characters and showing drummers in their videos… I dont know, Im probably wrong… oh well…

  5. No your correct on the battles. Why would they only put battles for guitars?
ConsoleHero said that Travis Barker (Blink 182) may be a boss.
But GH:WT will have changed the Battles. I think on Wikpedia it said that the battles will focus more on score than the battle power-ups.
It would be awesome to face off against Ozzy if he was a boss or Hendrix.

  7. I agree, Zed. In fact, after reading that Sting may indeed be a boss in the game, I’m kind of wondering if its as a vocalist or a bassist. Frankly, I hope the former.

  8. I have to say, Neil Peart or John Bonham(somehow) as the last Drummer boss.
Hendrix or Jimmy Page as the same.
Vocalist boss, there’s too many to even name.
