By Tyler Ryan on Jul 18, 2008 in News
Hendrix will indeed be a playable character in the game, and 2 of his songs will be available as well. During a stage show at E3, Neversoft’s Brian Bright confirmed the info, as well as announcing that there will be a Jimi Hendrix DLC for Guitar Hero: World Tour after the launch.
The Hendrix songs that will be in Guitar Hero: World Tour will be “Wind Cries Mary”, as well as a live version of “Purple Haze”.
Janie Hendrix, representing the Hendrix estate explained that “Jimie was a kid at heart - he definitely would have played these games.”
A cover version of Hendrix’s “Spanish Castle Magic” appeared on the first Guitar Hero, but as a cover version as the rights were not secured for the song.
