Activision has just released a sneak peek at Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades, and we’ve got all of the important info here.

Starting with the music, as tracklists seem to be the most important thing for some buyers. The hook with Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades is that it will feature five songs from each decade in the game.

The tracks that have been released so far are from what Red Octand is calling the “Modern” decade and the “2000″ decade. 10 tracks in total have been announced so far.

From the “Modern” decade we get;

The All-American Rejects - “Dirty Little Secret”
Paramore - “crushcrushcrush”
Fall Out Boy - “The Take Over, The Break’s Over”
Foo Fighters - “The Pretender”
Smashing Pumpkins - “Tarantula”

From the “2000″ decade we get;

Linkin Park - “One Step Closer”
Seether - “Remedy”
Jimmy Eat World - “The Middle”
Red Hot Chili Peppers - “Can’t Stop”
The Darkness - “I Believe In A Thing Called Love”

Each “decade” has their own unique venue which has been styled to represent that era.

More info after about Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades after the break.
Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades is being released so soon after the original On Tour for the DS because of how successful On Tour was. Given how quickly the sequel is coming out it’s likely that On Tour - Decades will not have many technology advancements over the original.

A new features for Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades however is that you will choose your storyline in your career path before you head out on stage choosing from either ‘Lead Guitar’, ‘Rhythm/Bass’, or ‘Guitar Duel’.

Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades will also unlock the lower career difficulties if you start on a difficulty higher than easy. For instance, if you play the game on ‘Hard’, it will unlock your progress on ‘Easy’ and ‘Medium’ as well.

The biggest feature for Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades however is the one that was announced with the game at the E3 conference, that is the ability to use the wi-fi that is built into the DS to play songs from any other copy of Guitar Hero: On Tour for the DS (and that includes future yet-to-be-announced games as well).

If you only have a copy of Guitar Hero: On Tour while your friend has only a copy of On Tour - Decades, you will both be able to play songs from either game provided that you’re playing a 2 player mode together. This only affects the songs themselves however and not the characters or venues.

When Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades is released this fall (no set date as of yet), you will be able to pick up the game by itself or, if you haven’t already purchased the original On Tour, as part of a bundle with the guitar grip peripheral.
