Rock Band 2 Customization Options

Hey Folks!  I’ve been away for a few days so we’ve got some catching up to do…  on the Guitar Hero side of things, a few more songs have been released but we’re going to start off with a LOT of Rock Band 2 news that has come out and we’re starting with some customization…

Some interesting news has come out in the character and instrument customization side of guitar hero with some highlights being that the game will feature more authentic in game instruments.  Manufacturers whose instruments have been confirmed are Ludwig, DW, Pearl, and more.  You may recall a recent article on Console Hero about speculation of a Bo Diddley guitar…  we can now confirm it.

All of the clothes and costumes from Rock Band will be available in Rock Band 2 as well.  If you’ve had your character a certain way and you want to keep them like that, you can.

Additionally there will be a bunch of wacky new items.  “Think Tia Carrera in Wayne’s World” says Dan Teasdale of Harmonix.  We also have to mention the metal shoulder pads with sawblades attached!

Regarding the ability to purchase merchandise of your customized characters, on RockBand.com, the Merch-O-Matic will launch shortly after the game is released.  You will be able to buy shirts, stickers, and even custom figures of your characters!
