PopStar Guitar will be another guitar controller based game and is currently being developed by games publisher/developer XS Games.
PopStar Guitar will be released for the Wii and Playstaion 2, and it currently has a release date set for late October 2008.
Steve Grossman, CEO for XS Games, has said that PopStar Guitar will have much more of a focus on pop music, rather than Guitar Hero and Rock Band’s focus on Rock and Heavy Metal.
Gameplay
Not much info has been released on the game yet, but it is expected to have a gameplay similar to that of Guitar Hero.
The game is said to work with current guitar based peripherals. PopStar Guitar for the Wii will also “come with the AirG™, a peripheral that snaps onto the Wii Remote and turns the controller into an electrifying air guitar”.
PopStar Guitar will feature a one-player career mode and a two-player co-operative mode.
Career mode in PopStar Guitar will see the player making his way from a garage band, to traveling to 25 unique venues before competing in the worldwide “Battle Of The Bands” Contest.
Players can select from 12 different characters in PopStar Guitar.
